The last thing to do on a trip is to drop by places where you are able to frequent in your own country. In order to satisfy my curiosities, I spent a substantial amount of my precious hours and minutes during my trip in Hong Kong,  scouting out for scarce establishments like this one in particular.

Agnès b. Café LPG.

Only available in Hong Kong and Taiwan, the idea of the gourmet chain was put forward by acclaimed french fashion designer; Agnès Andrée Marguerite Troublé or the customary appellation; Agnès b. herself.

Mimicking the tranquil and laid-back lifestyles of the French community, the bistros are the perfect hideaways from the usual scrambles of the asian flocks.

Blessed with the liberation of being a tourist, I ordered a cup of hot choco and lazed my day away. Okay, not literally. I did appreciate the only alone-time I had during the holiday though. Grazing out of the glass panes into the streets of the constrained city structure, I think I found my new past-time; people-watching.

Brooding about the occupation of seats over a cuppa of drink? No worries over that, it seems to be a norm in a coffeeshop; everyone’s doing the same. Sip that fragrant brew over a book or have a late brunch.

Looking at the kind of spread they offer (below), the intolerable tummy growls.

I hated myself for arriving repleted and almost pennyless. The least I could afford was the hot chocolate. The milk and chocolate concoction was pleasingly smooth, an ideal cessation to the relish meal I had.

Do visit this serenity heaven if you happen to travel in Hong Kong or Taiwan, who knows you might just meet Agnès b. in person?
