AiMakan, loves to eat but don’t exactly eat alot. However, on the day MoonBerry and I went for the tasting at Woori-nara we decided to also conveniently swing by this fairly new establishment at Lorong Kilat. Just a few doors away, we sort of ‘rolled’ our way over after a satiated luncheon to this curious-looking cafe. Look at those two pretty ugly mascots; yes pretty ugly not pretty ah, guarding the doors. I did not know to expect while pushing the obscure entrance open to get my way through. This semi vintage furniture store and cafe is clustered with countless of mature classic furnishings. Seating space is limited so do come by early if you want to be more comfy. No matter how stuffed I was, the sight of desserts in display cabinets will always be able to keep me on cloud nine let alone having them placed right on the counter top.

Orange Bundt cake embedded with specks of poppy seeds. ($5/pc)

This stack of delightful babies were put up for sale right before our eyes. MoonBerry was so tempted that she immediately selected one from the pile and a few others and DaBao them home. According to her, it was fan-tabulous (some ‘word’ I just learned from a friend). I need to try one sometime soon but the hefty tab might require a much loaded pocket. We were yearning for something light and tangy to cleanse our palates after that full-bodied meal thus these options.
Lemon Cream Tart ($6.20).Pots of tea ($4.50/pot, refillable with hot water).

Apart from the mandatory tartness to comment on (obviously, it is lemon cream anyways), I would say the tart base was pleasing. Just be wary of the occasional squint and crunch of the face while consuming.

It was a fruitful and engaging afternoon as we made friends with a number of people including one of the customers whom we shared tables with (we had no other choices.)

He was having this Carrot Cake ($7) and the extrovert us asked if we could snap pictures and take a bite out of it too. You would have guessed he said yes. That carrot cake was Very moist and dense with ingredients. Though the slice was rather petite, I could taste the cinnamon; nuts and cream cheese that were generously added into the mix.

The dainty tablewares served at C&C were fetching. It took much effort preventing myself from abducting any, placed in front of us.

That is Shenn with the apron, the cook/chef who was trained at the prestigious Cordon Bleu in London and honed her skills at artisan bakery and chocolate shop Cocomaya. A bubbly lady with the widest smiles which I conveniently caught on my camera.

I would love revisiting this awesome venue again with just one single dilemma, the bill.

*Revisited with highly recommended Passionfruit Meringue Tart and Lemon cake with lemon, poppy drizzle. The tart was delightful with a tangy jam and creamy meringue on a crusty base while the Lemon cake was… like that lor :P. *
