I visited OBOLO at Katong i12 earlier this year for my first tasting with Chef Mac, OBOLO march 2012. Time whooshed by so fast, it is already the end of 2012 and there I am stepping in again for their Christmas specials.
.
Macaron centrepiece tower, $252.
Mini versions selling at $72.50 each, only a hundred available. Flavours: Ruby/ Champagne / Bittersweet chocolate.
(approx. 21 macarons, height 21cm, diameter 14cm)
Why bother getting the conventional Christmas pine tree when you can opt for a sweet one like this?
Vin Rouge Macaron.
I consider Obolo’s signature macarons less toothsome than most renditions I had which are dead awesome.
This year’s unique flavour is these purple gems, a touch of Australian Shiraz red wine in the dark chocolate ganache. I could really taste the liquor within and you bet I was meticulously nibbling on my only sample piece.
Grand Marnier Chocolat Noir Obolo logcake limited edition flavour ($59)
Grand Marnier Christmas fruitcake ($32/600g), featured picture on main page.
Grand Marnier macaron, $2.51 per piece.
Obolo launched the Grand Marnier goodies series for the festive season with a handful of assorted sweets to choose from.
I was overwhelmed by the macaron and logcake (which does not come in the traditional woody design), a hint of the fragrant scent from the alcohol was brilliant.
If you are still considering which logcake to purchase, end that mind-boggling trouble with Obolo’s Grand Marnier Chocolat Noir logcake and other similar treats.
*This is a tasting initiated by Chef Mac (Obolo), thank you for the invitation.*
