If you have been AiMakan’s frequent reader, you would have noticed that I have reviewed Plaza Brasserie a couple of times. First was Flavours of Thai and then it was CNY 2013 earlier this year.

And YES, I am honoured to be back at the buffet table again for a whole new theme : Best of Asia- Seafood Promotion that runs from now till 26th of May.20130321-144347.jpg

An array of baked breads.

Apart from the familiar essentials like freshly shucked oysters, roasted meats corner and a display of assorted Asian staples, there were numerous recent add-ons for this new affair. Read on to find out more.

Salted Egg Yolk Crabs.

Black Pepper Crabs.

The crustaceans were fairly done, edible but not enough to create awareness. The salted egg yolk crabs were poorly executed but thankfully, black pepper crabs were decent.

Penang Fried Kuay Teow.

Worth a try, barely the actual thing but still tasty.

Fried Oyster Omelette.

Ala minute Teppanyaki Seafood.

I was devastated by this temporary replacement of the initial Prata Station. The alternated Teppanyaki counter will be available on Fridays to Sundays and serves up a selection ranging from stingrays, squids, prawns to salmons. As we advance further in the entry, do anticipate more Seafood dishes to come.20130321-021739.jpg

Sambal Prawns.

Southern Bay Clams with Black Bean Sauce

Vietnamese White Clams with Thai Chilli Sauce.

Sambal Stingray.

Drapped in banana leaves and grilled were these slabs of Stingrays. The sambal was spicy and paired along with the ChinChaLok (condiment made up of fermented shrimps, shallots and chillis) – delightful.

Oyster shooters

I shall be unpredictable this time round and end this post with these shooters instead of desserts. These cupfuls were buried under a bed of ice and easily missed. The mouthful portion consists of a fresh molluscs, a specially concocted blend and a wedge of lemon, refreshingly light and addictive. I had four.
