I am honoured to be one of the first few to walk through the vicinity and bring the sneak preview of eleven outlets to you. Of the sixteen tenants that occupy the area, there are various new and original companies joining the programme.

Naming just a handful,
Lady M Confections, an established New York City cake boutique which will be opening its first outlet out of USA.
Menzo Butao, a Japanese homemade ramen concept.
Supreme Tastes Jiang Nan Cuisine, a Chinese restaurant serving traditional Jiang Nan cuisine.
Hamanoya, a Japanese charcoal BBQ concept.
and SHALLOTS – an eatery serving European style cuisine with several items showcasing a hint of Asian tastes.

Spaghetti Vongole

We were served tasting portions of their squid ink infused pasta tossed with NZ Littleneck clams and olive oil. Taste wise, bland. They could have done much better with the awesome al dente spaghetti used.

Pork Katsuni Set

Nicely breaded fried pork cutlet placed on a hot plated and egg, onions and sweet soy sauce were drizzled over. Meat were overdone and tough, rather disappointed as it was tasty if not for the blunder.

Grill Fish Set Lunches.

include rice, miso soup, chawanmushi and sashimi.

This fish (whatever the name is) was perfectly grilled. The bones came straight off when removed and the meat were supple and moist. I would say it is definitely worth a second visit.

Dongpo Pork Knuckle, $28

Highly recommendated by AiMakan. Since the visit of the media tour, I have patronised the restaurant twice on my own account. Yes, it was good.

The meat fell off the bone effortlessly when we slit through the skin and fats with a knife. I love how incredibly melt-in-the-mouth every spoonful was. I would tell chef that these were excellent and I look forward to constant standards as long as they continue operations.

Shanghai Pork Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao), $4.80/4pcs

I was bowled over by the dumplings that were meticulously put together with delicate skins and gratifying porky fillings.

Pork Cheek Kuroō (Black) Ramen.

I rank Menzo Butao 2nd runner up with the simple fact that the bowl we had at the time of the tour was delicious. The pork cheeks were ductile to the teeth, in a good way. If you were to order any other dishes from the extensive menu, I am not going to assure anything.

Tom Yum Talay (Red Tom Yum Soup)

Craving for some authentic spicy sour seafood soup? Let this outlet be the one for you.

Rest assured that your regular portion will not be this petite. You will receive a substantial bowl of real fury broth that made me sweat a little, yes with that meager share.

Spicy Otah Kueh Pai Ti with Thai Chilli Sauce

This restaurant specialises on European cuisine with Asian influences, aka fusion food.

With this ‘tapas’ as an example. A crispy kueh pai ti cup filled with brimful fish otah (spicy fish paste). It was interesting consuming something Asian yet innovative in a contemporary atmosphere.

Tenderloin Pepper Steak

Flambéed right in front of us, the pepper tenderloin flamed for a good fifteen seconds enough for some promising photos.

Shakshuka

019

Veggie shawarma made of soy and other tasty vegetables (dark strips that look like meat).

022

Order-to-go Pita Pockets

Enjoy a full range of 100% vegetarian selections and dig into those shawarma that could only be found here, in Pita Pan. The meat substitutes are nicely executed with a slight chewy texture.

The original falafels stuffed in a choice of freshly baked pita bread pockets were out of the world, packed full with loads of flavours with every mouthful.

I am so going back soon, real soon.

CHOCO CRO and Strawberry CRO

The golden pastry is made up of a whooping 20 layers of delicate dough, filled with decadent chocolate made from the best blend of Ghana and Ecuador beans. This nestling is no stranger to those who love rich and buttery croissants.

Do remember to grab a ‘little Fuji’ while you are there.
